Abigail Campbell-King, AIA
After graduating from architecture school in Boston, Abby worked in residential design offices absorbing the many architectural styles in the greater Boston and Northern New England area. Her work ranged from small suburban additions, historic Boston town houses to large new family compounds in New Hampshire and New York. Wherever the projects were, the designs were in context with the unique sites. The houses seemed “to fit” the site, the neighborhood, the clients lifestyle and budget.
In 1999 Abby moved to Rhode Island with it’s wealth of colonial, shingle style and coastal cottage architecture. In addition, the amazing water views, the classic coastal landscape features, the light and air are as important to the designs as the architectural ‘style’. Her recent work reflects the history and beauty of southern coastal New England.
The most important element in designing any residential project is listening to the client and then translating their hopes and dreams into a pleasing built form that suits the site.
